Maybe versioning just not a critical requirement for most hypermedia applications?
Its interesting that the paper in HT91 discussing requirements for "Industrial Strength Hypermedia" (Malcolm, et al.) does not discuss versioning at all.
Maybe we've all lived with Unix, MS-DOS and MacOS so long that we don't know what we're missing!
