| ScanScribe™ Image Editor
ScanScribe is a document image editor that makes
it easy to extract, manipulate, and combine sketches,
handwritten notes, whiteboard images, screen snapshots,
and scanned documents.
Through ScanScribe, PARC researchers are advancing these ideas:
- document image editing — as opposed to editing formatted
text (e.g. MS Word) or structured graphics (e.g. PowerPoint);
- support for rough documents — work with images that are less
structured than formatted text, such as handwritten notes, drawings, and figures; and
- intelligent editing tools — it is easy to select just the content
you want, based on a novel user interface plus automatic analysis of perceptually
salient objects and groupings.
